Jola Pieslak

Jola was born and raised in Colorado, where she developed a passion and respect for nature and the environment. She believes that architecture should elevate how we live and how we use spaces through the thoughtful exploration of unique relationships between buildings and their context, especially the interactions between the user, nature, and architecture.

Jola is a licensed architect with more than six years’ experience in the field. She received a Bachelor of Environmental Design with an emphasis in architecture from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Master in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin before working in Austin, New York City, Boulder, Denver and now, the Roaring Fork Valley.

Jola has experience in a wide variety of project types, including custom residential, restaurant, retail, multi-family and low-income housing, and assisted living. She also brings experience in art-based spaces, from gallery design to collaborating and building with artists on public art installations in Austin, Denver, and New York City’s premier art fair, The Armory Show. Her training as a classical violist and her current forays into more improvisational styles of music inform the more effusive and intuitive avenues of architecture as an experiential art form.

On the weekend you can find Jola hiking, backpacking, skiing, exploring new fishing spots, and finding constant inspiration from the natural surroundings.
