Darby Nichols, IIDA
Designer, NCIDQ, LEED GA
Darby is a fifth generation Coloradan who has returned to her roots. She left Colorado to attend Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a minor in Architectural Lighting Design. She took advantage of a study abroad in Florence, Italy, and over the years has further indulged her love of travel with extended trips to Italy, New Zealand and the U.S.
Darby’s travels have given her the opportunity to see firsthand a variety of architectural styles and approaches, the interplay between old and new designs, and the way in which people interact in different environments. She is particularly fascinated by the psychological effects of design and the ways in which elements of a space—color, scale, materiality, and lighting—can elicit subconscious reactions. She especially loves working with light and draws from her love of photography and her background in architectural lighting.
Darby has experience in commercial design and custom high-end residences. She has worked with and collaborated with custom builders and craftsman and enjoys helping her clients create their ideal space. She is a Licensed Interior Designer (NCIDQ) and a member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).
In her free time, Darby enjoys photography, cooking, hiking, skiing, camping, playing with dogs, and exploring new places.
