Rich’s design work draws upon a strong commitment to engaging the particulars of context and the natural landscape. Guided by a modern sensibility, Rich reinterprets regional vernaculars and embraces natural materials to generate innovative design solutions that respect the surrounding environment.

His work ranges from nationally acclaimed private residences to new resort communities to landmark image centers. Rich’s background in planning provides an integrated approach to design, synthesizing finely detailed architectural design with a broader focus on place-making.

His projects have received a number of state, regional, and national awards for design as well as sustainability and have appeared in numerous publications including Architectural Digest, Town & Country, Forbes, Travel+Leisure, Dezeen, Dwell, Architonic, and Mountain Living.

Rich received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning after studies in Berlin and Vienna. He has been practicing architecture and planning in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado for more than thirty years. He has served as a guest design critic for Cornell and the University of Colorado as well as juror for professional design awards programs.
