The Little Nell
The Little Nell has become an industry and community icon. This 92-room hotel was part of a complete re-configuring of the base of Aspen Mountain, and is exemplary for creating cohesive public and private spaces. The complex site programming utilizes rooftop terraces and sub-grade connections to create a community gathering space, linking the city center with the mountain base: it is truly a “front door” of the community. The hotel living room, restaurant and bar wrap around a private landscaped courtyard with pool and spa, all constructed over parking.
The hotel received its Five-Star rating eighteen months after opening, and has been recognized by the Urban Land Institute’s Award of Excellence.
The Little Nell is still regarded as a top luxury hotel: Wine Spectator has designated the hotel as a Grand Award winner for its sophisticated wine list since 1997. In 2022, US News+World Report ranked The Little Nell hotel as #1 Best Hotel in Colorado, and #13 in the United States. In 2023, Travel+Leisure named it to The 500 Best Hotels in the World list.
